For years we've been looking at the muddy entrance to Y Plas, our community centre.

The work has been funded by

Powys transforming towns project,

Garthgwynion charity,

National lottery community fund, friends and  supporters of Machfringe.

April 2025.

Nearly finished. Great work by GT Davies and Ross and Sion who built the wall, George and Tomos our architects

The new doors allow easy disabled entrance and greatly improve the user experience. It is hoped that the future will see improvements to the Plas interior

The walls and seating are made from reclaimed slate from Corris. They will be planted with native ferns , Ivy leaved toadflax and Fleabane.

Machfringe has been in existence since the early 1990's.

We have raised thousands of pounds for many charities and put on hundreds of events.

We came into existence to provide a less well respected anarchic alternative to the  well respected and excellent classical festival at MOMA - Y Tabernacle arts centre that takes place every August.

Now,  when we can, we gather our amateur muscles and our silly dreams, we pump them up and  we  arrange  film festivals (The pink Snowballs ...That's where the original hillside sign began) light shows, comedy, acrobatics, open mics and Post Turkey Tango.
We put on bands, orchestras, puppets, street painting, publish books and music albums etc . Over the next few pages you can see some of our stuff..... maybe you were there?

Here's a little bit of typical Machfringe stuff

Post Turkey Tango .

Here's a little video and some images .
